Meals on Wheels, Yolo County says:
"In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently busier than ever, meeting the needs of more Yolo County elderly folks. We are delivering only twice a week, but still delivering 5 or more meals/week, plus extra grocery items, paper products and toiletries as needed, since most of our clients are home bound and beginning to run out of supplies. Coronavirus is a food security issue for low income and home bound seniors, and your important gift is vital in supporting our work with seniors right here in our community. Donors like you are more important than ever during this virus, and a critical component of our ability to do this job."
The Epicurean Esprit scheduled for May 14, 2020 is cancelled due to public health concerns related to COVID-19. Although we are disappointed with this development, we believe it is the right decision to minimize the risk to our sponsors, vendors and guests.
Friends of Meals of Wheels Yolo County will be processing refunds for participants that purchased tickets in advance. However, due to the nature and scale of this event we are encouraging you to donate the cost of your ticket to support Meals on Wheels Yolo County.
The Epicurean Esprit is a major fundraiser for Friends of Meals on Wheels, providing much needed funding for Meals on Wheels Yolo County. Due to developments surrounding COVID-19 and lack of funding, Meals on Wheels Yolo County is unable to add new participants to the program. Please consider donating to this much needed program.
